Home insurance
Your home is likely to be your most valuable asset, so the cover on it deserves more than a price comparison.
Our advisers take the time to understand your home and what is in it, then negotiate a combination of cover and price with insurers to suit it. We make sure you understand the policy you are buying before you buy it.
We take a different approach from those who chase the lowest premium. The right cover matters more, because a cheap policy that fails when you claim is not cheap at all. We use our market knowledge and relationships to secure a fair price for cover that works.
What a policy typically covers
- Fire, flood, storm and escape of water
- Theft and attempted theft
- Subsidence, heave and landslip
- Alternative accommodation if the home is uninhabitable
- Contents at home and, optionally, away from home
- Accidental damage as an optional extra
Exact cover, limits and excesses depend on the policy. We go through the wording with you before you buy.

Add-ons
Cover you can attach to this policy
Plumbing and drainage
Keep the household running when a pipe bursts or a drain blocks. An engineer, a helpline that answers at any hour, and no repair bill to find.
DetailsBoiler and heating
A boiler that fails in January is more than uncomfortable. This cover gets a Gas Safe engineer to you and pays for the repair.
DetailsComplete cover
Boiler, heating, plumbing, drainage, electrics and pests in one policy, so whatever fails, one call sorts it.
DetailsAppliance cover
White goods break at the worst moment. Appliance cover pays for the repair or replacement, with no limit on the number of call-outs.

Home insurance questions
How much should I insure my buildings for?
The cost to rebuild the property, not its market value. Rebuild cost is usually lower in London because the land is most of the price. We can help you check the figure.
Do I need home insurance to get a mortgage?
Lenders require buildings insurance from the day you exchange contracts, because from that point the risk is yours. Contents insurance is your choice.
Can I add boiler or appliance cover to my policy?
Yes. Plumbing and drainage, boiler and heating, complete home emergency cover and appliance cover are all available as add-ons to a home policy arranged through us.
Why use a broker rather than a comparison site?
A comparison site ranks by price and leaves you to read the policy. We read it for you, explain what is and is not covered, and place the risk with an insurer whose wording actually fits your home and how you live in it.
What do you charge for insurance advice?
Insurers pay us commission on the policies we arrange, and we tell you the amount if you ask. Where we charge a fee for arranging cover we tell you before you commit.
Ready to talk about home insurance?
Tell us a little about what you need and we will come back within one working day. No obligation, and nothing is applied for until you say so.
Cover is subject to underwriting and to the terms and conditions of the policy. Conditions and exclusions apply. Please refer to the policy documents for full details.
